As a self-proclaimed cross-genre MC with a UK grime influence, Gi Major is not one to be confined by industry labels.  Dynamic in style, Gi’s work is palatable to both mainstream hip-hop circuits and the rapidly growing underground grime & bass scene.  Currently stationed in Queens, Gi is Co-Founder and MC for NYC-based music collective, EARTHTONE.

Kicking off 2019 with a two-week American Grime radio tour in London, Gi has truly laid her footprint as a forward-thinking MC with a global impact. Featured on international radio stations, Kiss FM, Rinse FM, Flex FM, Westside, and Pyro Radio, she has gained the support of UK bass-music pioneers, El-B, Flowdan, Rudekid, and Marcus Nasty.

Growing up, Gi’s mother introduced her to a diverse collection of R&B and Soul music that ignited her passion.  However, as she grew older it became apparent that she was drawn to any and every genre of music as long as it contained one vital element: authenticity.  At the age of nine, she received what she considers to be one of the most influential catalysts to her own artistry, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

Known for pushing boundaries across musical spectrums, Gi has developed a distinct style that incorporates her past, present, and future. With an eternal love for deep rhythms and soulful melodies, she is known to be a lyricist defined by her lack of constraints.
